It happens when the middle sound becomes shorter or is already short.
Example:
Blom –> Blommen
Addition:
Strân -> Strannen
This happens when an â-word changes into a smaller sound.
Another rule:
When a word ends with a -ch, it will change into “g” +en.
Example:
Baarch -> Bargen
